About us, about our campaign

Newcastle Airport is an essential part of the economy of the region.  However ...

In 2017, Newcastle International Airport started using satellite technology to fly departing aircraft over a narrow route.   As a result, 2017 was the worst year for aircraft noise (see comments here) and and it's still going on.

Newcastle Airport didn't tell us it was going to do this.  It is being a bad neighbour - we want to change that.

See our "What is this about?" page here

Residents in communities around the Airport - west and east -are working together under the Aircraft Noise Action Group banner to combat aircraft noise from Newcastle International Airport.

We welcome residents from these and any other localities anywhere who are concerned about aircraft noise from Newcastle Airport join us in this campaign.

We are also subscribers to the Aviation Environment Federation which keeps us in contact with national developments, gives us access to expert support and helps us contact other groups campaigning on aircraft noise
